Mrs. Mary Beth Meggs, age 59, of Carbon Hill, AL, passed away at her home on Thursday, January 20, 2022. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, a truly kind and caring person who quickly became a friend to everyone she met. She taught Sunday school for many years, and loved the Lord. She had a passion and a talent for sewing, and loved to sew as often as she got the chance. Mary Beth will be missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Theo and Lou Neil Darty; and brother in law, Phil Gross. She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Walter Randall Meggs; sons, Benjamin Meggs, Joseph Meggs, Stepson Reginald Meggs (Stephanie);step- grandsons, Wesley and Tanner; sisters, Deborah Gross, and Faye Kirkland (Jack); brothers, Curtis Darty (Shirley), Gary Darty (Linda); friends, Deborah Lewis, Louise Williams, Pat Hinds, Betty Atkins, Jo Ann Kirkpatrick, Jo Ruggles, and Vickie Borden; and a host of other family and friends. A memorial of life service will be held in the Bob Wilson Memorial Chapel, at Wilson Funeral Home in Carbon Hill, AL for all who would like to attend.
