David Lee Sprowes, born on August 18, 1967, in Alabama, passed away on May 25, 2025, in Carbon Hill, Alabama. He was 57 years old. David was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life and cherished the time he spent with those closest to him. A true lover of the outdoors, he found peace and fulfillment in nature—whether casting a line while fishing, tracking game during hunting season, or enjoying the freedom of tailriding through open country. These passions were more than hobbies; they were reflections of his deep appreciation for the world around him and the moments shared with others. Above all else, David loved his family. His devotion to them was unwavering and evident in every aspect of his life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lori Sprowes; his daughter, Kayla Bridgmon; his son, Joey Sprowes; and his cherished grandson, William Abel Wilhite. His presence will also be deeply missed by his sisters Teanna Guthrie (Terrell), Addie Sprowes, Gracie Gunter, and McKenzie Gunter; and his brothers Chris Sprowes and Raylyn Gunter. David’s memory will live on through a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who were fortunate to know him. He now joins in rest his father Tee Sprowes Jr., mother Virginia Ann Sprowes Gunter, stepfather Talmadge L. Gunter, and brothers CJ Sprowes and Kevin Sprowes. In honor of David’s life and to assist with funeral expenses, donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Wilson Funeral Home. May David Lee Sprowes’ memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a lasting reminder of a life lived with heart and purpose. A Memorial Service will be held on May 30, 2025, from 04:00 PM to 05:45 PM at Wilson Funeral Home and On-Site Crematory 31404 1st Avenue NE. Brother Dwight McCay will officiate.
