Corbit Hunter Wilson, born on January 13, 1939, in Alabama, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025, in Jasper, Alabama. He was 86 years old. A proud veteran, Corbit served his country with honor in the United States Air Force for four years. His dedication to service and country remained a defining part of his life and character. Corbit was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Zora Jean Roberts Wilson; his son, Corbit Dean Wilson; his parents, James Hunter and Ella Lou Wilson; his brothers, Orville and Bobby Wilson; and his sisters, Betty Key and Louise Coker. He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: children Gene Roberts; Debbie Roberts Prince (Jerome); Ritchie Wilson; Allen Wilson (Brandy); Donald Ray Wilson (Sabrina); and Lorene Wilson Raper. He was a proud grandfather to fifteen grandchildren and a great-great-grandfather to three. His legacy also lives on through numerous nieces and nephews. Corbit found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep love for golf and was an enthusiastic supporter of Alabama Crimson Tide football—always ready with a hearty "Roll Tide!" during game days. These passions brought him happiness and connection throughout the years. He also shared a special bond with dear friends John and Tessa Barnes, whose companionship enriched his later years. Corbit’s life was marked by resilience, devotion to family, and unwavering loyalty to the things he loved most. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Funeral Service will be held on May 25, 2025, at 2:30 PM at Wilson Funeral Home and on site Crematory 31404 N.E. First Avenue. Visitation will be from 1:30 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. Followed by a Burial at Saragossa Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
