May 22, 2025
Sept. 30, 1942
Caroline Ann Gonzalez, born on September 30, 1942, in Alabama, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, in Jasper, Alabama. She was 82 years old. Caroline’s life was marked by devotion to her family and a quiet strength that carried her through the many seasons of life. She was the beloved daughter of Leonard Sumner and Voila Heathcock, both of whom preceded her in death. Caroline was also preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Wilkerson and Tony Gonzalez, as well as her cherished granddaughter Frances “Franny” Dansbury. She leaves behind a loving family who will carry forward her memory with deep affection: sons Robert Wilkerson and Dean Wilkerson; daughters Janie Crawford and Marina Wilkerson; grandchildren Ozzie Crawford, Brandy Crawford, Dakota Wilkerson, Savannah Padbury, and Karina Irving; along with several great-great-grandbabies who brought joy to her later years. Caroline found comfort and inspiration in simple pleasures. She loved sewing—creating pieces that were both practical and heartfelt. Music filled her days with warmth and rhythm, while reading her Bible offered her peace and guidance throughout her life. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched through quiet acts of love and enduring faith. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
