James Morris “Bo” Easterling passed away on April 1, 2025, in Carbon Hill, Alabama. He was born on August 22, 1961, and his life was marked by hard work, family ties, and a love for the outdoors. Bo was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Easterling; mother, Dorothy Nell Davis; brothers Ben Rayo, Jerry Ray, and John Easterling; and his son Jr Gilbert. He is survived by his wife, DeeDee Gilbert; daughters Bridgette Easterling (Fred Livingston), Jennifer Bagwell (Nick), Heather Easterling, Keesha Easterling, and Kristyn Johnson; sons Steven Gilbert and James Hall; brother Carl Easterling; and sisters Brenda Cleckler, Linda Dennis, and Nell Adams. Bo also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren who will carry forward his memory. A skilled construction worker by trade, Bo took pride in his craftsmanship. He had a passion for working on cars and found joy in fishing—pastimes that brought him peace and fulfillment throughout his life. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. The family will have a private memorial at a later date.
