Ruth Ann Ingle, age 79, of Dogtown, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Princeton Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
After 60 wonderful years of marriage, she leaves behind her beloved husband, along with her cherished children, and her adored grandchildren. She dedicated 20 years of her life as a talented hairdresser. Following her time in the salon, she transitioned to the Walker County School System, where she spent another 20 years before retiring. She was known for her loving nature and devotion to her family and friends. She created a warm and welcoming home filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. Whether it was hosting family gatherings or cheering on her children and grandchildren, she was always there, offering encouragement and support. Her legacy will live on through the values she instilled in her family—kindness, resilience, and the importance of cherishing each moment together.
Ruth is preceded in death by her fathers, Jim McGinnis and Arnold Nix; her mothers, Annie Mae McGinnis and Jimmie Sue Wright and two brothers, Charles “Bubba” Nix and Larry Wright.
She is survived by her husband, Theman Ingle; daughter, Michelle Ingle (Jason); son, Jonathan Ingle (Tameka); grandsons, Zachary Ingle and Jayden Ingle; brothers, Ronald, Tommy and David Wright, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm from The Wilson Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 23, 2025, with burial to follow at Carbon Hill Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Ingle will lie in state from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm the night before. Brother J.D. Dickerson will officiate.
Pallbearers will include: Chad Nix, Timothy Wright, Wayne Ingle, Josh Ingle, Brady Ingle, Hayden Ingle and Brock Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be: David Ingle, Rick Ingle and Chris Nix.
