Mr. Thomas Elby Nix, known affectionately as "Tommy," passed away on November 7, 2024, in Nauvoo, Alabama at the age of 84. Born on August 4, 1940, in Alabama, Tommy was a lifelong resident and a cherished member of his community. Tommy was a loving husband to Deborah Moles, and a devoted father to Stephanie Warren (Stephen), Stacey Love (Christopher), and Barry Nix. He was also a proud grandfather to his granddaughter, Isabella Schroeder, and Alexis Dockins and grandson, Kolden Nix. His siblings, Gary Nix, Donald Nix, and Barbara Nix, survive him. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Olan and Alvis Nix; his siblings, Lena Nix, Lily Nix, and Kenny Nix; his grandma and grandpa Johnson and his close friends, Eugene and Willie Beard. A master of many trades and a lover of antique cars, Tommy could transform any piece of junk into a masterpiece. His passion for the outdoors and his dedication as a hard worker were evident through his successful operation of Tommy Nix Drywall for over 50 years. His warm presence and resourceful nature made him a beloved figure not only within his family but also across his wide circle of friends and acquaintances. Visitation for Tommy will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 2:00 pm until the service time at The Wilson Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel in Carbon Hill, AL. The funeral service will also take place in the chapel on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 4:00 pm. Wilson Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory LLC in Carbon Hill, AL, is assisting the family during this difficult time. Tommy's life and legacy will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
