Vera Tidwell Obituary

Vera Tidwell, 92, of Carbon Hill, Alabama, passed away on November 4, 2024. Born on May 5, 1932, Vera was a dedicated member of Elm Grove Church of God and a pillar in her community. Vera was a loving wife to her late husband, William Clarance "Pug" Tidwell, and a devoted mother to her children, Donnie Tidwell and Anita Dobbins (Keith). She cherished her role as a grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of love and family values that will be carried on through her granddaughters Stacy Clark (Jason), Paige Dobbins, Rebecca Dobbins; grandson Justin Tidwell (Amy); great-grandchildren Jessica Clark, Jacie Clark, Tyler Hardin, Brianna Hardin, Allison Hardin, Noah Tidwell; and great-great-granddaughter Laila Watts. Vera was preceded in death by her husband Willian Clarence “Pug” Tidwell, parents Gus & Myrtle Earley, siblings Dean Wilkerson, Christine Clements, Opal Shirey, J.W. Earley, Shelva Hamilton, Nina Gillott, and grandson Kevin Edgil. Services to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 P.M. Vera will be laid to rest at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
