It is with great sadness that the family of Constance “Connie” Jean Cantrell announces her peaceful passing on July 26, 2024 at the age of 76. She is now reunited in heaven with her loving husband Larry Cantrell. Connie was born on October 27, 1948 in Monongha, West Virginia. She proudly resided at Smith Lake in Curry, Alabama for the last 42 years. Connie is survived by her children: Robert Cantrell, Melinda McGough (Joe), Jennifer Rigsby (Jeff); her sister Charlotte Lloyd; grandchildren Andy McGough (Lindsay), Kayla Horton (Matthew), Maggie Gardner, Zac Roberts, Matthew McGough (Hailey), Lila Gardener, Gage Rigsby (Lauryn), Sara McGough (Cody); six beautiful great grandchildren; sister in laws Sue Angelina, Ina Fullen, as well as; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Larry Cantrell in 2015; first husband Bobby Osborn in 1974; her parents George and Betty Fullen; her brothers Marshall Fullen, George Fullen, Jim Fullen, Danny Fullen; sister Janice Mayfield; and niece Sissy Brown. Connie was a member of Six Avenue Church of Christ. She loved the beach, shopping, music and dancing. She enjoyed being a resident of Smith Lake in Curry, Alabama. Where her grandchildren will fondly remember their days at the lake with her where she would take them on a treasure hunt every summer to find a treasure box she had previously buried for them to find around the lake. The family would like to acknowledge and thank her loving and compassionate care givers Ms. Belynda and Ms. Jean that assisted the family in her care during her final days. The family would also like to acknowledge and thank Southeast Hospice for their compassion and care. Our family takes comfort in knowing that Connie is healed and singing “Country Roads Take Me Home…” while rejoicing in the streets of heaven.
