Debra LaMantia Obituary

With great sadness we announce Mrs. Debra LaMantia passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, July 8, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. Deb was a beacon of light to her loved ones. Her beautiful smile penetrated our souls, and her love captivated the hearts of everyone she met. Deb worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant for 35 years. The residents she cared for were family to her. Deb spent not only time with her residents but also much of her own earnings buying them clothes, candies, hygiene products and as she called them “smell goods”. Being a CNA was not JUST a job to Deb, her heart was fulfilled with her work. Deb also spent several years volunteering at the local thrift store. Deb was married to the love of her life for 36 years. She and Michael raised 4 children together. They were blessed with 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Deb’s passion, pride, and love for her family was insurmountable. Deb was proceeded in death by her parents, John L. and Mary E. Jackson; sister, Alma “Jeannie” Tyler; son, Damon LaMantia; son in law, Thomas “Tommy” Bennett. Deb is survived by her husband, Michael LaMantia; 3 daughters, Stephanee (Tommy) Bennett (Widow), Carmen (Aaron) White, Jessica (Chris) Carruth; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 2 brothers; 1 sister; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday July 13, 2024, from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00P.M. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 P.M. at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Carbon Hill Memorial Cemetery.
