Alada Claudine Sandlin Clark, 102, passed away July 2, 2024. She is preceded in death by husband Clyde (Polly) Clark, daughter Clyda Dozier Latham, son Joseph Earl Clark, granddaughters Alicia Diane Sparks, and Laurie Clark Lee, and parents Claude Sandlin, and Lucille Sandlin Colbert, She is survived by her children, Sandra Sparks, of Arab; Don Clark (Sheliah), of Northport, Wade Clark, (Cyndi), of Carbon Hill; as well as twelve grandchildren( and spouses); twenty great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great- grandchildren; siblings, Mary Belgard (Bill), of Bozier City, Lousiana; John Gary Sandlin,(DeRidder, Lousiana); and many nieces, nephews and a community of family and friends who loved her very much.
She was a faithful member of the Carbon Hill Baptist Church and a Sunday School teacher for 57 years. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family. Her career as a beautician spanned four decades.
She was the oldest of eleven children of whom nine preceded her in death; Claude (Buddy) Sandlin, Oleta Sandlin, Oveta Purdy Hurlbert, Donald Sandlin, Doris Sandlin, Billie Jean Bragg Kajma, Thomas Wayne Sandlin, and Joe Neil Sandlin.
A Celebration of Life will be held July 14, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Carbon Hill with visitation at 2:30 P.M. and service 3:30 P.M. A private burial will be at Carbon Hill Memorial Gardens.
