Joseph Hunt Obituary

Joseph Clifford Hunt, age 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 30, 2o24, surrounded by his family.
Joe was born on June 22, 1948, and was a lifelong resident of Carbon Hill, AL. He was a graduate of Carbon Hill High School and continued to support and follow their athletics throughout his life. 
Joe was a respected member of the Alabama Society of Professional Land Surveyors for over 25 years and held multiples offices including: President, Vice President and Treasurer. During that time, he, and others, worked diligently to shape and improve the laws and processes for Alabama’s Surveyors.   Joe started his own surveying company in Jasper, Al and quickly became known as a surveyor with impeccable skill and integrity.  He loved his work and the relationships and friendships he developed during his 35 years of owning Hunt Surveying. 
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Joe Hunt was a devoted family man who loved his wife, children and grandchildren above all else. He was a beloved husband to Faye Key Hunt, a devoted father to Scott Hunt ( Fallon Coln Hunt), Barbara Hunt Brown (William David Brown), step father and friend to Jacob Wayne Key ( Deidra Powell Key) and Jennifer Canon LocK, Joe was also a loving and very involved grandparent to: Nile Jacob Hunt, Owen Harrison Hunt, Joshua Maxwell Hunt, William Alexander Brown ( Haley Marie Brown), Samuel Joel Brown, Noah Joseph Brown, Caroline Canon Becker (Dalton Becker), Chloe McKenna-Key Lock, Elijah Wayne Key, Everett James Key and great grandparent to Jonah William Brown, Andrew Lee Brown and Brody Christopher Brown. 
Joseph Clifford Hunt was preceded in death by his parents: Clifford Hunt and Maudie Tucker Hunt.
His kindness and love for others made him a cherished and loyal friend to many.
In his free time, Joe Hunt was an avid sports enthusiast and loved all sports. He loved to watch all football and baseball games, especially his Auburn Tigers but always made time for front yard football and wiffle ball with his grandchildren. 
Joe Hunt was a long-time, active member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Curry, Alabama.  He loved serving on various committees and loved his church family.  
A Celebration of life service will be held at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Curry, Al on Sunday July 7, 2024, from 2-4.  All friends and family are welcome.  There will be a private graveside service for his family at Carbon Hill Memorial Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home will direct all arrangements.
Joesph Clifford Hunt will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on through his family, friends, and colleagues.
