Jeffery Steven Brooks, 61, of Jasper, Alabama, passed away on April 14, 2024. He was born on September 24, 1962, in Jasper, Alabama. Jeffery, known for his stubbornness, good heart, and respectfulness, was a devoted family man who cherished his grandchildren. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. He is survived by his son, Justin Criswell; daughter, Jennifer Criswell; grandson, Brayden Criswell; granddaughter, Jena "Camara" King; brother, Roger Brooks; and niece, Jessica Garcia. Jeffery was preceded in death by his father, Alford "A.C." Brooks; mother, Joyal Brooks; stepfather, Hubert Payne; and sister, Debra Joyner. During his life, Jeffery served in the United States Army for 4 years, showing dedication and commitment to his country. A Memorial Service to honor Jeffery's life will be held at Mount Joy Baptist Church and announced at a later time. Wilson Funeral Home in Carbon Hill, Alabama, will be assisting with the arrangements. Jeffery Steven Brooks will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him in return.
