Rev. Bobby Patterson, age 84 passed away Monday April 1, 2024 at his home in Jasper, Alabama surrounded by his family.

A visitation will be held Saturday April 6,2024 from 4:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. with a celebration of life service being held at 5:00 P.M. at the Cordova Church of God of Prophecy, Cordova, Alabama.

Bobby was born on August 18, 1939 to Robert and Roberta (Birdie Mae). He grew-up in Greenpond Alabama. He joined the Navy in 1958 and served on the US 1170 Windham County, during his service. He was stationed in San Francisco at the armory and later sailed to China, Japan, Africa, Korea, and numerous other ports while serving his Country. He was discharged from service in January of 1962, upon returning home, he met the love of his life Connie Horton and they married in August of 1962. He started a family and was blessed with 3 daughters, 10 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.

In October of 1961, he started his ministry in Church of God of Prophecy and began evangelizing. In August of 1963, he was appointed as pastor to the West Blocton Church of God of Prophecy, and pastor for one year. He was  then called to Texas, and began his ministry there. He pastored for 5 years in Texas, until he returned to Alabama. Since that time he has served  as pastor for 12 different Churches throughout the State. The Cordova Church of God of Prophecy is where he pastored for the last 27 years. His ministry has touched countless lives. His faithful service to the Churches he pastored, with repairs, money, and compassion, his unfailing love, never wavering, trust, and his endless faithfulness for God will live on. His greatest pride  and achievement are that all his family are faithful to God and are raising the next generation to follow in their pawpaw's footsteps.

He is preceded in death by his  parents Robert and Birdie Mae Patterson, his  loving wife of 58 years; Connie Patterson, one granddaughter, Michelle Douglas, He leaves behind 3 daughters, Lynn Dill (Randy); Sharon Douglas (Andy); Deborah Patterson Sloan. Grandchildren, Amanda King, Tiffany Brown, Paige Shadix, Stephanie Langley, Andrew Douglas, Josh Sloan, Bethany Hatchell, Emily Sloan, and Alex Sloan. 17 Greatgrandchildren, Lanee, Lexi, Lawson, Mattie, Ella Ray, Katelyn, Olivia, Elizabeth, Sam, Sawyer, Eli, Luke, Layla, Makenzie, Ethan, Myles, and Linley expected in June, and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
