Jonathan Ekholm Rosedahl, age 51, died January 18, 2024 in Empire, Alabama. Jon was born March 13, 1972 in Bangkok, Thailand. He was adopted by SSG Thomas and Sharron Rosedahl November 19, 1974 in Bangkok. Jon was naturalized as a U.S. citizen on September 17, 1979 at the U.S. Court House in Trenton, NJ. As a US Army dependent, Jon attended school in many places, beginning his education in Ft. Dix, NJ and continuing school in San Antonio, Texas; Edzell, Scotland; Jacksonville, AL; as well as Marine Corps Air Station, Iwakuni, Japan where he graduated from M. C. Perry High School in June of 1990. Upon graduation, he worked for the base exchange producing artwork for merchandise displays. He returned to the US and attended the Art Institute of Seattle, WA for one term. He then returned to Jacksonville, AL working for various businesses in the Jacksonville/Anniston area. At the time of his death, he was employed by Corner Food and Fuel in Warrior, AL. Jon had an infectious smile and laugh that lit up the room. He was also a devoted pet owner having a pot belly pig and two dogs. Jon’s hobbies included sketching, photography, fishing, and coin collection. He was often mistaken for Tiger Woods. Jon is survived by his parents, Tom and Sharron Rosedahl; sister, Tia Rogers; brother, James (Sherry) Rosedahl; and nephews Matthew Rogers, William Rosedahl and Joseph Rosedahl. He also leaves his Aunt Linda (Donald) Ludy of West Chicago, IL; Aunt Carol Olson of Menomonie, WI; Aunt Pamela Nelson also of Menomonie; and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Burton and Jeanette Rosedahl, Bricelyn, Minnesota; grandparents, James and Haroldine Price, Hansville, Washington; and uncle, Michael Olson. Interment will be held in July, 2024 at South Blue Earth Lutheran Cemetery, Bricelyn, Minnesota.
