Frances Knox Obituary

Frances T. Knox, 91, of Nauvoo, went to be with Jesus on May 7, 2023 after a brief illness. She was a member of New Bethany Church of God, a Sunday-lunch cooker, a green-thumb gardener, a voracious reader, a “world-famous” strawberry jelly maker, a faithful birthday card sender, a baby-quilt creator, and a life-long follower of Jesus. She spent her life using her gifts, talents, and strengths to provide, care for, and love others. She taught us well, loved us well, and left us a beautiful example of a life well-lived. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert D. Knox, her parents, William and Ellie Gilbert, her brother, Carl Gilbert, her brothers-in-law Jimmy Tucker and Dale Cantrell, her grandson, David Heflin, and her granddaughter, Amy Heflin Wilhite. She is survived by one daughter, Vicky Dozier (Lonnie), three sons, David Heflin (Ruth Ann), Kerry Heflin, and Philip Heflin (Deborah), sisters, Ann Tucker and Jean Cantrell, daughter-in-love, Karen Heflin, grandchildren, Tracey Williams (Bill) Amanda Heflin Myers, Cheryl Tucker (Josh), Cassie Gilreath (JoJo), Eric Heflin, and Danielle Willis (Matt), 17 great grandchildren and 11 great, great grandchildren. Services will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at New Bethany Church of God, Nauvoo, AL. Private family visitation at 10am, open visitation at 11am, and funeral service at noon.
