Mr. Virgil McCullar, of Carbon Hill, Alabama, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at the age of 75. A funeral service will be held at The Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Carbon Hill, Alabama, on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 12:00pm. Visitation will take place in the chapel one hour prior to service time. Brother Scott McCullar will officiate. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The First Baptist Church of Carbon Hill in Mr. McCullar’s honor. Mr. Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, Crystal Louise and Luther Franklin McCullar; two brothers, Jerry McCullar and Corkey McCullar; a sister, Joyce McCullar Drummond; and his best friend, Donald Fredricks. He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Nora Jean McCullar; three daughters, Callie Thornburg (Michael), Sonya Yocum Keeton, and Denise Lovett; two grandchildren, Joshua and Josie; stepson, Anthony Yocum; and best friend, Joe Thomas.
